Ta ana Tate – Trumpeter / Composer / Music Director / Band Leader / Ar st / Actress More than ever, monstrously talented young women are rising through the ranks of Jazz, Gospel, Funk, R&B and Neo-Soul instrumentalists, challenging the male-dominated status quo. Ta ana Tate is at the top of the list of rising stars. This Long Beach California-based Trumpeter, Ar st and Composer has built a resume that would be the envy of ar sts three mes her age. Ta ana began her musical journey as a drummer at age 5 and later moving to Trumpet at age 8. She is an NAACP Act-So Champion. She was Soloist of the Colburn Conservatory of Music Jazz Workshop Band, Soloist of the Arturo Sandoval All-Star Youth Jazz Band, and Ta ana performed at the First Annual Grammy Museum Gala along with Boys 2 Men, Kelly Roland, Smokey Robinson, and Michael Bolton. She performed with Stevie Wonder, and S ng. She coarranged and performed with Doechii on Tiny Desk. She performed at The Billboard Women In Music Awards with TLC. She performed at the BET Awards with Lizzo. She played on the tle track for the Reasonable Doubt movie series on HULU, with Adrian Young, Ali Shaheed Muhammad (Lucy Pearl / A Tribe Called Quest). Ta ana is a frequent featured performer with the Allstar Jazz, Funk, R&B, All Female Super Group, Jazz In Pink. She has performed at many fes vals and concert venues throughout the country, Dymally Interna onal Jazz & Arts Fes val, Washington D.C.
