Kalimba Song Coffee Company is proud to announce an exhibition of Spoken Word , visual and digital arts and community cultural vibes with “Free-ish” ; a poetic celebration for Juneteenth. This intimate arts and culture event aims to celebrate and acknowledge the Juneteenth Federal Holiday weekend while providing a platform for incredible top notch Spoken Word artists to express and contemplate with the community, the meaning of freedom in America. It is a time to reflect on our ancestors journey in American History. “In a time where states and systems are banning books or otherwise trying to hinder access to culture, history and even art, we understand that it is important to produce an event like this”, said Kalimba Song Coffee Company CEO Greg Johnson.
Free-ish is completly curated by the Hannibal Mewdia Group and Still Waters Network. While this experience is an arts and culture exhibition, it is being held in a unique and intimate event space called Dulan’s Next Door. The space is located adjacent to the famous Dulan’s Soul Food Kitchen in Inglewood, CA. The vibe will be bolstered by a showing of exclusive and select art from renowned artist Buena Johnson with more to be announced. We’ll also have a hi-tech digital display of images depicting hope, freedom and inspiration curated by Rhonda Love of the DreamKreator Studio.
Admission to “Free-ish is a modest donation of $10. Plus Dulan’s has crafted a unique culinary menu of delectable soul food bites. What a great time is set as we ignite the Juneteenth holiday weekend. Tickets for Free-ish can be purchased at the eventbrite page or at the door. Purchase tickets here
