California Black Media Network hosts briefing with State officials
California Legislature approved the formation of a task force to deeply investigate how reparations could be given to the State’s American Descendants of Slaves. This is a landmark body that could set the standard for similar investigations in each State and indeed at the Federal Level. The Task Force has completed the first phase of its work and has turned in a 400 page report that will be presented to the general Legislature in June.
Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer, Scretary of State Dr. Shirley Weber and Attorney Hamaki come together to discuss with the States Black Press. The discussion is moderated by Regina Wilson, Executive Director of the California Black Media Network.
