Community Organizations to host California Proposition 50 Townhall Meeting

Moderated by local journalist Jackie Rae, the NAACP Long Beach Branch and Hannibal Media Group seek to inform community

Hannibal Media Group, DreamKreator, the NAACP Long Beach Branch, and Jackie Rae TV is inviting the community to a public townhall meeting focused on understanding California Proposition 50. The live in-person event will take place on Saturday, November 1 at 11:00 AM inside the Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery located at 580 N. Pine Avenue Long Beach. cA 90802.

Moderated by multimedia journalist Jackie Rae, the townhall will convene a distinguished panel of intellectuals, political thought leaders, and community activists to provide a comprehensive discussion about Proposition 50 and its projected impact on governance, accountability, and communities across the state. The event is designed to deliver clear, research-based information to help voters make informed decisions in the upcoming election. Invited panelists include: Dr. Jerome Hunt- Professor of Political Science Long Beach City College; Maggie Drizzell-League of Women Voters; Dr. Anthony Samad- Executive Director, Mervyn Dymally African American Economic and Political Institute; and Friday Jones-Community Activist.

As a nonpartisan civic forum, the program is moderated by Jackie Rae, a local journalist who will lead the discussion complete with audience q&a. The program encourages robust participation from local residents, students, civic stakeholders, and the broader Long Beach community. Attendees will gain access to voter education resources and opportunities for continued engagement beyond the event.
