Long Beach – The Hannibal Media Group, a media marketing communications company centered in arts and culture, proudly launched its music as public art initiative known as “Culture & Concerts. Saturday June 21 and in honor of Black Music Month (aka African American Music Appreciation Month), the Billie Jean King Main Library was the place to be for an afternoon of immersive music perspectives.
Leading up to the experience, we curated a spotify music playlist and a reading list. The afternoon began with a panel discussion centered on history, legacy, struggle and triumph. Hannibal Media Group CEO and Arts advocate Greg Johnson moderated a stellar panel of practitioners in the art of music. Tatiana Tate who is a rising star jazz trumpeter, Diane Robertson, who is the Executive Director of the Leimert Park Jazz Festival; Qiana Conley-Akinro- Sr. Executive Director, LA Chapter Recording Academy; A. Scott Galloway, Music Journalist/Critic rounded out this deeply intellectual and insightful conversation
Delivering the proverbial “cherry on top”, was a scintillating concert set by Tatiana Tate and her band who delivered an incredible performance on the Terrace facing the adjacent Lincoln Park. You can view pics and video of this incredible day of music by clicking here.
