Political Activity Policy
Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery – 580 Pine Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90802
Purpose: Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery is a cultural space dedicated to artistic expression, community wellness, education, and creative dialogue. To maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals of diverse beliefs and backgrounds, the gallery maintains a neutral position regarding political candidates and campaigns.This policy establishes guidelines regarding political activity within Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery.
Non-Campaigning Policy: Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery does not permit political candidates, campaign representatives, or political organizations to use gallery programming, performances, exhibitions, or open microphone opportunities for the purpose of campaigning, soliciting votes, fundraising, or promoting a political campaign.This policy applies to all candidates regardless of political party, affiliation, or office sought.
Candidate Appearances: Political candidates are welcome to attend public events at Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery as members of the audience. However, candidates may not use the stage, microphone, or event programming to promote their candidacy unless the appearance is part of an officially organized civic forum hosted by the gallery.
Civic Forums and Community Dialogue: Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery may, at its discretion, host civic forums, town halls, or panel discussions addressing issues of public interest. When such events involve political candidates, the gallery will make reasonable efforts to ensure that:
- Multiple candidates or perspectives are represented
- The format encourages respectful community dialogue
- The event is moderated in a fair and balanced manner
Distribution of Campaign Materials: Campaign materials, including flyers, posters, literature, and campaign merchandise, may not be distributed or displayed inside Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery without prior written authorization.
Respect for Democratic Participation: Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery respects the democratic process and encourages civic engagement within the community. This policy is intended only to preserve the gallery’s role as a neutral cultural and artistic space.
Policy Enforcement: Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery reserves the right to enforce this policy at its discretion and may deny or remove access to the stage, microphone, or programming to individuals who attempt to use gallery events for campaign purposes.
