Cultural Icon Jayne Kennedy to visit Long Beach

A Conversation will provide introspect into her Memoir “Plain Jayne”

Long Beach, CA — Beloved television personality, actress, and trailblazing broadcaster Jayne Kennedy will visit Long Beach on Saturday, December 6, at 1 p.m. for a special book signing of her memoir, Plain Jayne, at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library.

Kennedy’s memoir, Plain Jayne, offers an intimate look at her remarkable life and career—from breaking barriers as one of the first Black women to host network sports television, to her acclaimed work in film and her personal journey of faith, family, and resilience.

The community is invited to meet Jayne Kennedy in person, hear her reflections on writing the memoir, and have their copies signed. Seating will be limited, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

Immediately following the signing, a reception and meet-and-greet will be held at Blu’ Arts and Wellness Gallery in downtown Long Beach. The reception will provide fans and community members with an opportunity to engage more personally with Kennedy in an intimate and inspiring setting celebrating art, culture, and empowerment.
