R&B star gifts state-of-the-art recording studio to VIP Records Long Beach

In a generous demonstration of community giveback, R&B star Giveon recently returned to his hometown of Long Beach, California to build and donate a recording studio. The singer/songwriter gathered with friends, family and community at the legendary VIP Records Long Beach to open the facility. The private ceremony was attended by Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia and other community leaders to celebrate the gift and VIP Records as a creative anchor in the community.

Long Beach Mayor Dr. Robert Garcia lauded the studio gift as an extension and example of the vibrant creative community in Long Beach while Giveon shared heartfelt sentiments of coming home and contributing to the upcoming generations in his City. The singer hopes the facility can be a productive creative space for young musicians in the community. “I’m from this community. I went to Poly High right around the corner” Giveon told us. “I want to help the youth coming up behind me. The fact that I am able to do this here of all places is a full circle moment for sure”
